The Department of Experimental Clinical Research is a structural subdivision of the Smorodintsev Research Institute of Influenza. Since 2016, the department employees have organized and conducted more than 20 scientific and clinical studies in the field of infectious diseases. Since 2019, one of the key activities of the department has been the analysis of medical data and the development of machine learning models for solving problems of medical diagnostics and prediction.
Projects
Development of a method based on a machine learning model for diagnosing fatty liver disease in patients with chronic viral hepatitis and / or non-alcoholic fatty liver disease;
Development of a method for predicting the epidemic situation in organized teams in order to increase the effectiveness of preventive measures and reduce morbidity. The project is being implemented in cooperation with the Federal State Treasury Institution «Main Center for State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance (Special Purpose)» of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and with the Federal State Budgetary Institution «St. Petersburg Scientific Research Institute of Physical Culture»;
Development of a method based on a machine learning model to predict the likelihood of developing tuberculosis in patients with HIV infection;
Development of a method based on a machine learning model to predict the duration of inpatient treatment of patients with COVID-19 based on routine clinical indicators assessed at the prehospital stage;
Development of a method based on a machine learning model for determining the stage of liver fibrosis in patients with chronic viral hepatitis C according to the data of routine clinical examination;
Development of a method based on a machine learning model to determine the degree of histological activity of hepatitis in patients with chronic viral hepatitis C according to the data of routine clinical examination.
